Kales Group: organizational flexibility key to future growth
29 November 2011Even after a record year in volumes in 2010, Kales Airline Services reports an ongoing rise in volumes in 2011. Kales Group currently coordinates more than 20 million kilos of freight per month and continues to show growth. New developments in our customer base ask for organizational flexibility and great customer focus. Peter Kales, CEO and founder of Kales Group, explains the company's strategy and value proposition: "Kales Group delivers full service even if this entails organizational changes."
"We believe organizational flexibility is the key to success and by sharing risks with our airline partners we contribute to our partners future growth and hereby strengthen our own position in the market. Especially with the potential severe economic times to come."
The GSSA business is always subject to change. Kales Group has seen exactly how sensitive their business is after losing important long lasting contracts due to the merging of airlines. Such developments inspire us to look for new ways of cooperation with the airline partners. Fortunately, the Kales Group has just been selected as the European Cargo GSSA for Air Astana , the national airline for Kazakhstan, and Ethiopian Airlines. Both airlines have their origin in areas of high economic potential. Other areas that show continued economic growth are Bangladesh, India, Vietnam and South America. In those areas, Kales Airline Services is entering into joint ventures and opening offices.
With 35 offices in 23 countries, Kales Airline Services is able to offer any airline full European coverage. Despite their global representation and the international aspect of their business, Kales Airline Services attaches great importance to local knowledge. Dirk Hazenoot, Vice President Sales & Marketing of Kales Airline Services, explains: "At Kales Airline Services, we understand the importance of local (business) knowledge. expertise and experience. Therefore, all of our offices are populated by local management and staff. To learn, develop and grow as an international company, one must acknowledge the importance of an understanding in the different cultures and traditions." Such ethics in business function as building blocks in corporate sustainibility.
The extent to which the weak global economy will have an impact on the air cargo business next year is hard to overlook. Since 2009, airlines and GSSA's are extra alert on fluctuations in the market. Because of economic uncertainty caused by the European debt crisis, efficiency matters are high on the agenda. Kales Group therefore focuses on its portofolio of airlines and works together with clients in strategic alliances. Beneficial for both sides and cost reducing. That is why the number of airlines we serve, continues to grow.
